Six simple sauces to serve with your favorite dumplings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili garlic sauce (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon finely sliced scallions
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon hot water
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon lime juice
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper

Instructions

  1. For Sauce 1 (Classic Soy-Vinegar): Mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and chili garlic sauce in a small bowl. Stir well.
  2. For Sauce 2 (Cilantro-Scallion): Combine cilantro and scallions in a small bowl. Set aside for garnish or mix into Sauce 1.
  3. For Sauce 3 (Peanut Sauce): Whisk peanut butter, hot water, brown sugar, and lime juice until smooth. Add more water if a thinner consistency is desired.
  4. For Sauce 4 (Sweet Chili Blend): Mix sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, and sriracha in a small bowl.
  5. For Sauce 5 (Hoisin Dip): Combine hoisin sauce and water. Stir until combined.
  6. For Sauce 6 (Simple Sesame): Mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, and white pepper.
  7. Serve each sauce immediately or cover and refrigerate for up to three days.

Notes

  • Adjust chili sauce or sriracha amounts to control heat level.
  • Use fresh ginger for the best flavor in the classic sauce.
  • Thin the peanut sauce with a little more hot water if it becomes too thick upon standing.
