Description

A simple recipe for warm, spiced apple cider perfect for autumn.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 gallon apple cider
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon whole cloves
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 teaspoon whole allspice berries

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large pot.
  2. Heat over medium heat until the mixture just begins to simmer. Do not boil.
  3. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer gently for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  4. Remove from heat and strain out the spices and orange slices before serving.
  5. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For a stronger spice flavor, simmer for up to 1 hour.
  • You can substitute maple syrup for brown sugar if desired.
