A simple recipe for warm, spiced apple cider perfect for autumn.
Ingredients

- 1 gallon apple cider
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon whole cloves
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 1 teaspoon whole allspice berries
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a large pot.
- Heat over medium heat until the mixture just begins to simmer. Do not boil.
- Reduce heat to low and let it simmer gently for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- Remove from heat and strain out the spices and orange slices before serving.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- For a stronger spice flavor, simmer for up to 1 hour.
- You can substitute maple syrup for brown sugar if desired.
