Description

A simple recipe for salmon pasta with bright lemon and fresh dill flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb salmon fillets
  • 12 oz pasta (linguine or fettuccine)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water before draining.
  2. Season salmon fillets with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook salmon for 3-4 minutes per side until cooked through. Remove salmon and flake into large pieces.
  3. Add minced garlic to the same skillet and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in white wine or broth and let it reduce slightly, about 1 minute.
  5. Stir in heavy cream, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  6. Add the drained pasta to the sauce. Toss to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water, one tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
  7. Fold in the flaked salmon and chopped dill. Season with additional salt and pepper if needed.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use fresh dill for the best flavor. Dried dill can be substituted at half the amount.
  • For a lighter sauce, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
