Description
A refreshing, sweet iced tea flavored with fresh strawberries, made without brown sugar.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups water
- 4 black tea bags
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated white sugar
- 1/2 cup cold water (for steeping)
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan.
- Remove the water from the heat and add the tea bags.
- Steep the tea for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags.
- In a separate small bowl, combine the sliced strawberries and granulated sugar. Let this mixture sit for 10 minutes to allow the sugar to draw out the strawberry juices.
- Pour the hot tea into a heat-safe pitcher. Add the 1/2 cup of cold water.
- Pour the strawberry and sugar mixture, including the juices, into the pitcher with the tea. Stir well until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Chill the tea in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until completely cold.
- Serve the tea over ice. Garnish with fresh lemon slices if desired.
Notes
- For a stronger tea flavor, steep the tea bags for an extra minute.
- You can adjust the amount of sugar based on your preference for sweetness.
- If you prefer a clearer tea, strain the strawberry solids before chilling.
