Description

A cool and simple yogurt dip with cucumber and mint, perfect for hot weather.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 medium cucumber, grated and squeezed dry
  • 2 tablespoons fresh mint leaves, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon water (optional, for thinning)

Instructions

  1. Grate the cucumber and press out any excess water using a clean cloth or paper towels.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the yogurt, grated cucumber, chopped mint, roasted cumin powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Stir all ingredients together until well combined.
  4. If the raita is too thick, add one teaspoon of water at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a tangier flavor, use Greek yogurt.
  • You can add a small pinch of sugar if your yogurt is very sour.
