Description

A refreshing, non-alcoholic drink made with hibiscus tea, citrus, and sparkling water.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups brewed hibiscus tea, chilled
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup sparkling water or club soda
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime slices for garnish
  • Mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brew hibiscus tea and chill completely.
  2. In a pitcher, combine the chilled hibiscus tea, lime juice, and simple syrup. Stir well.
  3. Taste the mixture and add more simple syrup if you prefer it sweeter.
  4. When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice.
  5. Pour the hibiscus mixture into the glasses, filling them about three-quarters full.
  6. Top each glass with sparkling water or club soda.
  7. Gently stir the drink.
  8. Garnish each glass with a lime slice and a mint sprig.

Notes

  • To make simple syrup, heat equal parts sugar and water until sugar dissolves, then cool.
  • You can substitute orange juice for some of the lime juice for a different flavor profile.
  • For a stronger hibiscus flavor, steep the tea longer.
