Description
Rich, fudgy brownies featuring a layer of creamy Nutella.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup Nutella, slightly warmed
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides.
- In a large bowl, melt the butter. Whisk in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan.
- Pour the slightly warmed Nutella evenly over the batter layer.
- Carefully spread the remaining batter over the Nutella layer.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. A toothpick inserted near the edge should come out with moist crumbs, not wet batter.
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before lifting out and cutting into squares.
Notes
- For cleaner cuts, chill the brownies for at least 2 hours before slicing.
- You can sprinkle a few chocolate chips on top before baking for extra texture.
