Description

A simple recipe for chicken cooked in a single pan with garlic and butter.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Do not let it burn.
  4. Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the skillet in a single layer.
  5. Cook the chicken for 5-7 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F or 74°C).
  6. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside on a plate, keeping it warm.
  7. Pour the chicken broth and lemon juice into the skillet. Scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  8. Stir in the Italian seasoning. Let the sauce simmer and reduce slightly for 2-3 minutes.
  9. Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • You can add vegetables like broccoli or asparagus to the pan during the last 10 minutes of cooking the chicken for a complete meal.
  • Use chicken thighs instead of breasts if you prefer a richer flavor.
