Description
A sweet delight cookie recipe using nuts and candied fruit.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 1/2 cup chopped candied cherries
- 1/4 cup chopped candied orange peel
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (for drizzling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Stir in the sugar and heavy cream. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
- Whisk in the flour and salt until just combined.
- Fold in the sliced almonds and candied fruit.
- Drop rounded teaspoons of the batter onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. They will spread while baking.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Melt the chocolate chips in a small microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Drizzle the melted chocolate over the cooled cookies. Let the chocolate set before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute pecans or walnuts for the almonds if you prefer.
- Store the cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature.
