Description
A simple recipe for rich chocolate brownies with a creamy peanut butter swirl topping.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mix the melted butter and granulated sugar until combined.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Stir in the chocolate chips. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- In a small bowl, mix the peanut butter, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth.
- Drop spoonfuls of the peanut butter mixture over the brownie batter.
- Use a knife or a skewer to gently swirl the peanut butter mixture into the chocolate batter.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
Notes
- For cleaner cuts, chill the cooled brownies for at least one hour before slicing.
- You can use natural peanut butter, but you may need to adjust the powdered sugar slightly for consistency.
