Description
Rich, fudgy brownies with a strong coffee flavor, perfect for coffee enthusiasts.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
- 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon instant espresso powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides.
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped chocolate until smooth.
- Whisk the sugar into the chocolate mixture until combined.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the espresso powder and vanilla extract.
- Gently fold in the flour and salt until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. A toothpick inserted near the edge should come out with moist crumbs attached, not wet batter.
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before lifting out using the parchment overhang and cutting into squares.
Notes
- For an intense coffee flavor, dissolve the espresso powder in 1 teaspoon of hot water before adding it to the batter.
- Do not overbake; slightly underbaking results in a fudgier texture.
