Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides.
  2. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped chocolate until smooth.
  3. Whisk the sugar into the chocolate mixture until combined.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the espresso powder and vanilla extract.
  6. Gently fold in the flour and salt until just combined. Do not overmix.
  7. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  8. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. A toothpick inserted near the edge should come out with moist crumbs attached, not wet batter.
  9. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before lifting out using the parchment overhang and cutting into squares.
