Description
A simple recipe for making crispy taco shells in the oven.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 corn tortillas
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
- Lightly brush both sides of each corn tortilla with vegetable oil.
- Sprinkle a small amount of salt on both sides of the tortillas.
- Carefully drape each oiled tortilla over two oven racks, forming a U-shape. Alternatively, you can fold them in half and place them between the rungs of a metal cooling rack set over a baking sheet.
- Bake for 8 to 12 minutes, or until the shells are firm and lightly browned.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool completely before filling.
Notes
- You can use a taco rack if you have one for uniform shaping.
- Check the tortillas frequently after 8 minutes to prevent burning.
