- 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 2 shots espresso or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
- 2 tablespoons gingerbread syrup
- 1 tablespoon whipped cream (optional topping)
- Pinch of ground ginger or cinnamon (optional topping)
Instructions
- Heat the milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until steaming, but not boiling.
- Whisk the gingerbread syrup into the warm milk until fully combined.
- Pour the espresso or strong coffee into your mug.
- Pour the warm, sweetened milk mixture over the coffee.
- Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of ground ginger or cinnamon, if desired.
Notes
- To make a quick gingerbread syrup, combine 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon ground ginger, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves, and 1/4 teaspoon molasses. Simmer until sugar dissolves, then strain and cool.
