Description

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the ground turkey, chopped cilantro, lime juice, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined; do not overmix.
  2. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and form into patties about 3/4 inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent bulging during cooking.
  3. Heat the avocado oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook the burgers for 5 to 7 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the juices run clear.
  5. Remove from the skillet and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Serve these burgers wrapped in large lettuce leaves instead of traditional buns to keep them Whole30 compliant.
