Description

Pork chops topped with mozzarella, tomato, and basil, baked until tender.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 slices fresh mozzarella cheese
  • 4 medium tomatoes, sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
  2. Season the pork chops on both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Sear the pork chops for 2-3 minutes per side until lightly browned.
  5. Remove the skillet from the heat.
  6. Top each pork chop with one slice of mozzarella cheese and two tomato slices.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the pork reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit (63 degrees Celsius).
  8. Remove from the oven.
  9. Sprinkle the chopped basil over the chops.
  10. Drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving.

Notes

  • You can use thick-cut tomato slices for better coverage.
  • If your skillet is not oven-safe, transfer the seared chops to a baking dish.
  • Use fresh mozzarella for the best melting quality.
