Description
Simple recipe for crispy baked chicken wings seasoned with lemon pepper.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs chicken wings, separated into flats and drumettes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon pepper seasoning
- 1 teaspoon baking powder (optional, for crispier skin)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a wire rack set over a baking sheet.
- Pat the chicken wings very dry with paper towels. This step helps them crisp up.
- In a large bowl, toss the dried wings with olive oil.
- Sprinkle the lemon pepper seasoning and baking powder (if using) over the wings. Toss until the wings are evenly coated.
- Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet or wire rack. Do not overcrowd the pan.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Flip the wings over.
- Bake for another 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit (74 degrees Celsius) and the skin is golden brown and crisp.
- Remove from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, you can increase the oven temperature to 425 degrees Fahrenheit for the last 5 minutes of cooking.
- If you prefer a saucier wing, toss the baked wings with melted butter or a light glaze after they come out of the oven.
