Description
Cook a tender steak quickly using an air fryer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (1-inch thick) steak (such as sirloin or ribeye)
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Pat the steak dry with paper towels.
- Rub the olive oil over both sides of the steak.
- Mix the salt, pepper, and garlic powder together. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over both sides of the steak.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
- Place the seasoned steak in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the basket.
- Air fry for 8 minutes for medium-rare (internal temperature of 130°F to 135°F). Adjust time for desired doneness (add 2-3 minutes for medium, 4-5 minutes for medium-well).
- Flip the steak halfway through the cooking time.
- Remove the steak from the air fryer and let it rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- For thicker steaks (over 1.5 inches), you may need to reduce the temperature slightly to 380°F (195°C) to prevent the outside from burning before the inside cooks.
- Use a meat thermometer for accurate doneness.
