Description
Simple recipe for making crispy chicken tenders in an air fryer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Cut chicken breasts into uniform tender shapes, about 1 inch thick.
- Set up a dredging station with three shallow dishes.
- In the first dish, mix flour, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- In the second dish, lightly beat the eggs.
- In the third dish, place the plain flour mixture again (for double coating).
- Dredge each chicken tender first in the seasoned flour, then dip in the egg, and finally coat thoroughly in the flour mixture again. Press the coating on firmly.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
- Place the coated tenders in a single layer in the air fryer basket, working in batches if necessary. Do not overcrowd.
- Spray the tops of the tenders lightly with cooking spray.
- Air fry at 380°F (195°C) for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F or 74°C).
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, chill the coated tenders for 15 minutes before air frying.
- Adjust seasoning to your preference.
- Use a meat thermometer to confirm the chicken is fully cooked.
