Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Combine the sliced strawberries, sugar, and water in a medium saucepan.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to simmer.
- Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries soften and the sauce thickens slightly.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the lemon juice.
- Allow the sauce to cool completely before serving. It will thicken more as it cools.
Notes
