Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup strawberry jam or preserves
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, combine the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt.
- Pour the melted butter over the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Press two-thirds of the oat mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Spread the strawberry jam evenly over the oat base.
- Crumble the remaining one-third of the oat mixture over the jam layer.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown.
- Let the bars cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
Notes
- For a firmer bar, chill the baked bars for at least one hour before slicing.
- You can use homemade strawberry compote instead of jam for a fresher flavor.
