Slow Cooker Basil Pesto Bread

Description

A simple recipe for making soft basil pesto bread in a slow cooker.


Ingredients

  • 1 package (13.8 ounces) refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup basil pesto
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease the inside of a 4-quart or larger slow cooker.
  2. Unroll the pizza dough onto a clean surface.
  3. Spread the basil pesto evenly over the dough.
  4. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the pesto layer.
  5. Roll the dough tightly into a log.
  6. Cut the log into 6 equal slices.
  7. Arrange the slices cut-side up in the prepared slow cooker.
  8. Drizzle the olive oil over the top of the bread slices.
  9. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 2 to 2.5 hours, or until the bread is cooked through and slightly firm to the touch.
  10. Carefully remove the bread from the slow cooker before serving.

Notes

  • You can use store-bought or homemade pesto.
  • If your dough is very sticky, lightly flour your hands when handling it.
