- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar, sifted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions
- Beat the softened butter and cream cheese together in a large bowl until smooth.
- Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, mixing on low speed until combined.
- Add the vanilla extract and salt. Beat on medium speed until the frosting is light and fluffy.
- If the frosting is too thick, add a teaspoon of milk or cream. If too thin, add more powdered sugar.
Notes
- For best results, use room temperature butter and cream cheese.
- Sift the powdered sugar to prevent lumps in the frosting.
