Simple Chocolate Slice

Description

A straightforward recipe for a rich, no-bake chocolate slice.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 200g digestive biscuits
  • 100g unsalted butter
  • 50g granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 100g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 50g desiccated coconut (optional)

Instructions

  1. Crush the digestive biscuits finely.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat.
  3. Stir in the sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Remove the pan from the heat. Add the chopped dark chocolate and stir until fully melted and combined.
  5. If using, mix in the desiccated coconut.
  6. Fold in the crushed biscuits until they are evenly coated with the chocolate mixture.
  7. Press the mixture firmly into a lined 20cm square baking tin.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours, or until firm.
  9. Cut into squares before serving.

Notes

  • For a glossy finish, melt an extra 50g of dark chocolate with 1 teaspoon of coconut oil and spread over the top before chilling.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
