Description

Simple recipe for savory cheese balls mixed with bacon and chives.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup crushed crackers or pecans (for coating)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, chives, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Cover the bowl and chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or until firm enough to handle.
  3. Place the crushed crackers or pecans in a shallow dish.
  4. Scoop out small amounts of the cheese mixture and roll them into balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  5. Roll each cheese ball in the cracker or pecan coating until fully covered.
  6. Place the finished cheese balls on a serving platter.
  7. Serve immediately or keep refrigerated until ready to serve.

Notes

  • For easier rolling, chill your hands briefly before forming the balls.
  • You can substitute smoked paprika for garlic powder for a different flavor profile.
